Translation with extra proofreading
Depending on the type of text to be translated, an additional proofreading, done by someone other than the translator, may be necessary. For example, extra proofreading may be relevant if you have a technical text and it is crucial that the terminology is completely accurate. Some examples could be legal documents, technical documents for construction plans, medical texts, or financial texts.
When is a dedicated proofreader needed?
The need for additional proofreading depends on several different factors. At Diction, we can give you advice free of charge if you are unsure whether additional proofreading is necessary. You can make an inquiry, and our project manager will provide a free assessment. Documents that often require additional proofreading include, for example, legislation, patents, tenders, legal reports, technical specifications, medical records, medical scientific articles, specialized texts, texts for printing, or other patient information.
Texts that usually do not require additional proofreading
At Diction, we want to do a good job at the best possible price. We have set our prices in the most appropriate way. Some translations are easier to perform than others, and for simple translations, it may be sufficient for a native-speaker translator to translate your text. Texts that can often be translated without additional proofreading include, for example, emails, subtitles, manuscripts, social media texts, simple product descriptions for websites, or simple newsletters.
How your translation price is calculated
To get a translation quote, we ask you to upload your document to our website. You can do this via our contact form or by sending an email to [email protected]. At Diction, we want transparent prices, and we usually calculate the price based on the number of words in your text. If your document is scanned, is an image, or the format cannot be edited, we can also estimate a price per page.
Delivery time
For translations that require both a native-speaker translator and a proofreader, the delivery time is usually at least two to three working days. This is the typical delivery time for two to three pages. If the number of pages is higher, the translation may take longer. If the translation is urgent, you can notify our project manager, and we will try to start the translation immediately. For urgent translations, an additional fee is usually charged, which can vary depending on your deadline and whether the translation needs to be done outside of normal business hours.
Confidentiality
For many of our clients, confidentiality is crucial, as the text to be translated may contain sensitive personal data. At Diction, we have a duty of confidentiality and often work with documents that are highly sensitive in nature for both companies and individuals. Some examples of this are patient records, criminal records, or documents containing trade secrets. If you request a translation quote from Diction but ultimately do not place an order, your document will be deleted from our server immediately after your feedback.
Translation to and from all languages
Diction can help you translate to and from most of the world's languages, and we operate in hundreds of different language combinations. We primarily translate into European languages, but we also have extensive experience translating into Asian and South African languages. For over 10 years, we have built a strong network of specialists and partners, which means that we can generally work with translators around the world in the specific language combination you need.
