Two hundred Icelandic customers in 2023
The Icelandic branch of Diction celebrated one year on the market at the end of 2023. Over 200 Icelandic customers, consisting of companies, individuals, and public institutions, have chosen Diction as their language service provider. The Icelandic branch has also successfully completed over 360 different language projects during the first year.

Icelanders are passionate about their language
"There is a high demand for high-quality translations in Iceland. Icelanders are very protective of their native language, even though it is spoken and written by a relatively small number of people globally. The requirements for translations into Icelandic are very high, and that is why many companies, institutions, and individuals turn to specialists for this type of project," says Andri Freyr Ríkarðsson, project manager at Diction Ísland.

66°North, the airline Play, and Hagar are among Diction's customers
Despite being a new player on the market, the Icelandic branch of Diction has already helped many of the country's largest companies with translation and proofreading projects. The clothing company 66°North, the airline Play, and the Hagar Group, one of the leading players in the Icelandic market, are among the first 200 customers. The Icelandic Transport Authority, the National and University Library of Iceland, and the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries are also among those who have entrusted their translation and proofreading projects to the branch.

Economic growth in Iceland
Martin Boberg, founder of Diction, looks forward to being a part of Iceland's bright future. "I am very impressed with Iceland's economic development in recent years. Iceland has a unique history, and despite its geographical distance from the rest of Europe, Icelanders have managed to create a worldwide reputation. Diction would like to be a part of this positive journey together with Iceland.".

Skjalaþýðing – a specialized service for legal translations
To meet the high demand for authorized translations from Icelandic customers, Diction has launched a website called Skjalaþýðing and established partnerships with many authorized translators in Iceland and abroad. The subsidiary was formed to separate the focus areas within the Icelandic branch and be able to offer customers specialized expertise in legal translations. Visit Skjalathyding.is for more information about Skjalaþýðing.

Increased demand for translation into Polish
Not surprisingly, the vast majority of translation, proofreading, and copywriting projects at Diction Ísland are related to the Icelandic language. However, due to the increasing presence of Poles in Iceland, Diction has experienced unexpectedly high demand when it comes to translations to and from the Polish language. Therefore, Diction Ísland has adapted its services to meet the demand and has now expanded its network of skilled translators who can complete all types of Polish-language projects.
